Discussion about apology demand – Part 4
Early day Christians did finally choose an earthly authority, called a pope. People were held in terror of their soul’s salvation since they believed that the Roman Catholic Church actually had the power to save them or send them to purgatory. I believe this is what Paul was trying to tell the people to avoid. Perhaps without knowing it, Paul was telling to keep separate church and state.)

Banned – by 1 Timothy 2:12 NIV
1 Timothy 2:12 has been used to harm women in the church more than any other scripture. It is a scripture that a church uses when it decides what a woman can’t do. Every church has its own definition of what a woman can’t do, and they are not the same. Continue reading
Deacons Part 2 – The husband of one wife boondoggle

Marriage is not the subject – part 2
Romans 7:1-3 is not a marriage manual in a how-to book. The apostle Paul uses illustrations from a woman’s legal point of view in a marriage because it wouldn’t work if he used a man’s legal point of view, because men could legally have multiple wives. Continue reading
Is 1 Peter 3 an eternal Marriage Manual?
1 Peter 3 is not an eternal marriage manual. Instead it is just part of a passage that began with 1 Peter 2 which tells Christians how to act toward non-Christians, government, and with others, which includes husbands and wives. Continue reading
Sugar Coated Submission
Sugar coating does not help when we are talking about women submitting to their husbands. There is nothing wrong with submitting to your husband. What is wrong is that women are told that they have to do it to honor God. God never made that demand. It is not in the 10 Commandments, and Jesus never indicated that a wife had to submit to her husband in order to honor God. Continue reading

She wants me to stop
1 Corinthians 11:3 tells me that Christ is the head of my husband, but is not the head of me, because my husband is. Now, do you really believe this woman believes that? It is contrary to all the scriptures we learn, contrary to all the songs we sing, contrary to all the sermons we hear, contrary to what we teach our children, contrary to all the prayers we pray, and contrary to all we know about God and His love.

Playing Twister with the Scriptures
