I want you to watch this video of me speaking at the Seneca Falls 2 Conference. It is just a 2 minute clip. Thanks to Cindy Kunsman who had this video made and for all her hard work in designing it and putting it in usable form.
A little background is necessary. The Council on Biblical Manhood and Biblical Womanhood wants you to know that Dr. Dorothy Patterson and the 3 other women on the council board are ‘Homemakers.” The men have their distinguished accomplishments listed beside their name, and are not listed as homemakers. The submissive women all have “homemaker’ proudly before their distinguished accomplishments. One is a pastor’s wife, so she is not listed as a homemaker.
It is silly beyond anything a reasonable person would believe. But they do it.
This video clip is my opening introduction statement.
In a marriage, if only the wife is the homemaker, the husband is AWOL.
Uh, I think people should go look at Dorothy Patterson’s bio. She has a doctorate. She certainly was not homemaking when she got that. She also attended a “midnight buffet” with Arafat. She wasn’t homemaking when she did that. She travels the world and speaks and is paid…not homemaking.
It is all a big show. The peons should be homemakers but the woman telling them what to do are quite accomplished outside the home!

Yeah, I mention that she had visited 80 countries and got up at least some mornings and went to work in my speech.

Shirley, I watched your Seneca Falls video and liked it very much. You make a good point about dual homemakers (you and Don). The same is true of my husband and me. Matter of fact we’ve been homemaking together for 48 years. You and I must be close to the same age. I, too, remember what it was like before the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
For several months now I have been following some of the anti-feminist blogs in true amazement. I had no idea that people exist today who are opposed to women’s suffrage. It blows my mind. If you pay close attention to some of the anti-feminist blogs, you can pick up hints of racism too.
Keep up the good work. I am paying close attention to everything you and others like you are saying.

Welcome! I love to hear from new readers. Yes, we’re probably the same age, and it is a shame that we are still fighting this battle for equality in our churches. The churches should have been the very first to embrace equality for women. Instead some can be vicious in their attacks. Not all, but some. Please keep reading and let others know. There are so many people that believe women should have equality, and many are speaking up – but many are silent. We need everyones support. Thanks so much.
