Seneca Falls 2 Christian Conference

Why doesn’t somebody do something?  Have you ever said that?

I have.  Many times I have been frustrated with a situation and wondered why somebody didn’t just do something.  In fact, that is the way I feel about women’s equality in the 21st century.  It is 2010 and women are still being treated like children, or a lesser adult human being in our churches.  We are treated that way in the churches that depend upon women to serve and to give, and to live out a Christian life.  Churches that have forgotten the actions of Jesus.

I have good news for you.

Somebody is doing something.

Jocelyn Anderson, the author of Woman!Submit and her newest book Woman this is WAR! Gender Slavery and the Evangelical Caste System, is doing something.

The Seneca Falls 2 Christian Conference is what she she is doing.  It will be in Orlando, Florida, on July 24, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Select, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.  The conference is free.  There are food and hotel costs.  Her book will be for sale, along with other items.  You, too, can do something by attending this conference.

The Purpose of the Conference: We are not coming together to define the problem, that has already been done. The purpose of Seneca Falls 2 is to offer solutions and present a united front in favor of gender-equality for Christian women. We believe that by doing so, we can encourage those who presently remain silent to add their voices to ours. We believe we can see change. (Jocelyn Andersen)

I will be one of the speakers at this conference.  You can find out more about this at http://hungryheart100.tripod.com/womansubmit/id14.html.

It is time to do something.  Join with us as we accept the challenge.
